Abstract: Pith-ball electroscope on copper base in dome-shaped glass vessel, with dome cover in gilt fer-blanc with thin copper rim. Under side of base inscribed: 'Baradelle l'aîné a Paris N.° 1 1787'. Four metallic marks, at equal distances along inner edge of glass dome, with corresponding scale marked on copper base. The unit on scale is divided into two parts. The base is attached to the dome by means of sealing-wax.
