Abstract: Surveyor's sextant inscribed "G.F. Brander fecit Aug Vind" on metal base of support for needle. Bevelled polished marble base on which a box is mounted to rotate. On the base inscription "Carolus Theodorus Flactor Palatinus Anno 1781". Sighting vanes (hair or wire missing at one edge) - circular scale 30° W -30° E. Tilted mirror at end reflects light for reading.
