Abstract: Réaumur mercury thermometer mounted against glass plate in rectangular brass frame. Top of glass is inscribed "Mossy quai Pelletier a la Croix d'Or à Paris. 1783". Scale reads from -16 to B.P. Glass at bottom of scale is inscribed "divisé par Richer". Ice point is marked "GLACE" and B.P. "Eau Bouillante", each degree being divided into ten parts, the lines marking the half-degrees being longer and marked with a dot at their extremities. Scale cut on glass with diamond. Frame has a ring for suspension and bulb has a metal guard.
