Thematic group: Iconography of Lavoisier
Type: portrait
Text: Fait a la Maison [du Petit] Luxembourg le treize fl[oreal] [an 2] de la République
Comment: Although it is not documented where Lavoisier was kept on May 2, 1794, it is nevertheless unlikely that he was imprisoned at the Petit Luxembourg. The miniature is coming from the Collection of A. Chauvac-Claretie. It was displayed at an exhibition set up in March 1931 by the Musée Carnevalet in Paris, entitled Paris et la Révolution. The present location is not known.
