Abstract: (1786-02-23): Research on electrical phenomena. Notion that electricity is a slow combustion, electrical effects resulting from decomposition of air. Uses an electrical machine in a vacum chamber, constructed by Fortin, to examine effects in vacuum and in different gases. Tests nitrogen on March 27, oxygen on April 27.
