After David's portrait. Of this engraving two version exist. One consists of a medallion of Lavoisier’s bust on white background. In the second (call number BNF: N 2 - D 185456) the medallion is adorned with the instruments which were painted by David in his portrait of 1788 (the gasometer, the areometer, the glass bell etc.) |
