Component's data
Type: electrical machine
Abstract: A Ramsden electrical machine mounted on its table. The glass plate was broken during the war and the woodwork of the upright slightly damaged by bullets fired from a British aeroplane engaged in attacking a German ammunition lorry - some of the bullets are with the machine. One of the fragments from the glass plate has been kept. The rubbers of the machine are in fair conditions but dry. The prime conductor rests on the table with another piece of the machine, together with a glass insulator mounted on a circular base and capped with a spherical brass top, this insulator fitting by an iron peg through a hole in the table
