With the following inscription by Douglas McKie: "This annuaire descended with Lavoisier's apparatus and instruments and part of his library through Mme Lavoisier to the Comtesse de Sugny and so to the Comtesse de Chazelles of Champaissant, Sarthe. It was given to me in September 1957 at Champaissant by Mme de Chazelles to recall my cataloguing of the Lavoisier collection.
